We offer work placement for Veterinary, Veterinary Nursing and High School students.
Places are in high demand and are therefore limited, we fill these on a first-come-first-serve basis and in order to give each student the best experience we only take one student at a time.

Full time Veterinarian required for Gunnedah Veterinary Hospital.
Who we need: We are ideally looking for an experienced mixed practice vet to join our team however new graduate applications are welcome.
Why we are looking: Despite the drought our work-load is increasing and so we are seeking an additional vet to join our team.
About us: We are a well respected mixed practice in Gunnedah, in north-west NSW that has been established for over 60 years! We are currently operating as a three vet practice, which has grown considerably in recent years. Our vets are well supported by three friendly, full time certificate IV vet nurses.
Our patients and case load: Case load is approximately 80% small animal, 10% beef cattle and 10% equine, with a smattering of birds, pocket pets, reptiles and wildlife to keep things interesting! Our regional location gives us a great variety of cases, providing all staff with a challenging and fulfilling workload. There is opportunity to develop in any area of special interest.
Our Hospital is purpose built, modern & spacious: We follow a high standard of practice, with new protocols, procedures, medications and equipment always being welcomed. We are well equipped to enable you to practice a very high standard of veterinary medicine.

- Two stables and equine stocks
- Dedicated X-ray room with DR digital radiography
- Hospital/ICU area – we have a large hospital area which is designated to surgical preparation and wet / dirty surgeries. Intensive Care patients are also hospitalised here to facilitate close monitoring
- Large & small animal ultrasound
- Pathology & sterilizing area
Location: Gunnedah district is a cropping, livestock & mining area with a population of about 13,000. There is a wide range of cultural & sporting organisations. Gunnedah is the Koala Capital of the World & is a diverse, friendly town with many young professionals.
